Create a Screen Recording with PowerPoint

This tip will show you how to use PowerPoint to record your desktop. Start by opening up a new, blank PowerPoint.

In case you missed the end of this video, your screen recording can either be saved as a video, or you can add additional slides as title screens, cut scenes, and end screens, and export the slides and video as a single video. Make sure slides have timings set up.

  1. In the Recording tab, click Export to video.
  2. Check that the settings use the recorded timings and narrations.
  3. Choose Create Video
  4. Save this to your desktop with a unique title as an .mp4 to your desktop.
  5. See below for how to upload and share through one of the captioning services, Microsoft Stream or YouTube.
