Five Resources to Help New Faculty get off to a Good Start

Are you brand new to teaching at Conestoga and need some help getting started?

Maybe you’re not sure how to connect to the college network, how to set up your course shell, or what courses and workshops are available to help you. If this is you, please keep reading … you’ll find links to four (plus one) key resources that will help you get ready for the upcoming term.

Employee and student IT support 

Employees and students are invited to visit Conestoga’s IT page for updated content related to term Startup activities. Information is available for common questions related to WiFi, accessing the college network, email, printing and software downloads. This main channel for IT updates and communication also provides information about Conestoga’s systems and their status, as well as a link for live support.

Faculty Learning Hub

There are many teaching-related resources here on Teaching & Learning’s Faculty Learning Hub. Here’s a link to one on Getting Started with Online Synchronous Classes that should be useful. You can also use the menus to explore different types of resources or search for a specific topic.

eConestoga Orientation for Faculty

There is start-up information for new faculty in the Faculty Support area of eConestoga. There is a specific orientation section that would be a good place to start. You can use the link or scroll down to the Featured Support Tools section on the eConestoga Faculty Support landing page.

Teaching at Conestoga Micro-credential & Teaching-related Workshops

The mandatory Teaching at Conestoga micro-credential for new hires will be offered starting in January. There will also be numerous workshops on preparing for remote delivery.
