Launch of New Community of Practice for Faculty
Are you interested in connecting with your colleagues to share ideas about how to enhance your teaching practice? Do you want to learn about different strategies that could help get your students more engaged in their learning? Do you have questions about how to better manage your classroom, or introduce more authentic assessments? If so, you’re in luck.
Teaching and Learning has launched a Microsoft Teams-based Community of Practice dedicated to all things teaching and learning. It will provide Conestoga professors with the opportunity to connect with colleagues in and beyond their program who are interested in creating effective learning environments for their students, whether it be face-to-face, blended, remote, or HyFlex. In this digital space, faculty are encouraged to ask questions, discuss ideas, share experiences, and nurture each other’s professional growth. Discussions already underway include:
- Active learning and instructional strategies
- Assessments
- Course and lesson planning
- Remote delivery
- Resources and materials
- Student engagement
Supported by Conestoga’s Teaching and Learning Consultants, we will look to collectively enhance our teaching practice by exploring practical and evidence-based solutions to common questions, challenges, and situations.
Hope you’ll join us!
