Teaching and Learning Conestoga is a group of committed educators, consultants, technologists, and support staff dedicated to developing teaching initiatives and practice among the Conestoga community. We pride ourselves on our team’s collection of diverse and complementary experiences and expertise.
Dr. Paula F. Gouveia, M.BA, Ph.D (French Language and Literature), joined Conestoga College in October 2023 as the Vice President, Academic Administration, and moved into the role of Vice President, Academic in May of 2024. Prior to joining Conestoga, she served as Vice-President, Academic at Cambrian College where she focused on teaching and learning excellence, strategic enrolment management, program quality, and institutional research.
Sherri Steele, Ph.D (Medical Science) is a passionate and dedicated educator whose career in the Ontario College system has included several faculty and leadership roles since 2008. Her teaching experience is in the field of life and health sciences, spanning all levels of credentials. In her work with faculty, Sherri brings a practical and energetic approach to teaching and learning practices, with a keen interest in supporting faculty with quality assessment practices that focus on outcomes-alignment, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the progression of meaningful student learning.
Nasreen Sultana, Ph.D (Education), has worked and taught in post-secondary education for a decade, previously at Queen’s University. She leads part time faculty mentoring, and supports diversity and inclusion among faculty and students. Nasreen specializes in intercultural communication and active learning strategies and techniques to support internationalized classrooms.
Elan Paulson, Ph.D (English), has served as an educator in Ontario’s higher education system since 2004. Before joining Conestoga in 2020, Elan led community engagement at eCampusOntario and hybrid and online professional education program delivery at Western University’s Faculty of Education. Elan specializes in research, collaboration, and practice with technology innovations in teaching, including asynchronous online course delivery.
Graeme Noble, M.Ed (Curriculum & Pedagogy), has ventured into many realms of learning design to meet the needs of today’s professional learners—especially when it comes to educational technology. As an Educational Technology Officer, Graeme approaches teaching and learning at Conestoga and elsewhere from a digital storyteaching lens, always careful to consider how curricula and technologies interact to shape the learning environments and experiences.
