This teaching basics workshop includes a) a brief introduction to common classroom management challenges b) evidence-informed suggestions and innovations to start the semester off on the right foot, taking into account the importance of creating an inclusive classroom community c) a discussion about how novice vs expert faculty tend to respond to classroom management challenges d) an opportunity to apply knowledge to a case study where participants can practice preventing and responding to classroom management incidents that may arise.
