SUMMARY:An Introduction to Teaching First Semester Students - (EDV0125 - Section 1 of Winter 2025)
DESCRIPTION:This teaching basics workshop includes a) a brief introduction to the unique characteristics and needs of students in their first semester of post-secondary education (with special consideration given to first-generation students)\, b) an overview of college resources available to help these learners\, c) a discussion about best-practices faculty can employ to help ease the transition to post-secondary while supporting students’ ongoing development\, d) a debrief in which outstanding questions and suggestions for teaching first semester students are shared. \n  \nRegister for this workshop.
